Aberdeen Maritime Branch (AMB)

With the fourth largest membership area in the UK and overseas, the ABM is an integral part of the learned society. Royal Aeronautical Society - Highland Branch (RAeS)

The Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) exists in order to promote the general advancement of Aeronautical Science and Engineering and to promote the profession of Aeronautics. The RAeS is the only multidiscipline aerospace institution embracing membership in all aerospace community sectors at all levels ranging from those embarking on their career to senior managers. Membership embraces all community sectors such as aircrew, operations staff, ATC, engineers, education, research, manufacturing, law etc. The RAeS is a nominated body of the Engineering Council and offers a preferred route to registration for aerospace engineers to provide recognition of their professional competence.

Welding and Joining Society (W&JS)


The North Scottish Branch of the Welding & Joining Society was established in 1981 by The Welding Institute (TWI). Membership is open to everyone with a practical, technical or business interest in materials, welding and allied technologies. It provides a readily accessible package of services, benefits and club activities. Membership provides participation in national and regional meetings, a regular quality journal, a library service and reduced rates for TWI training, information services and events. TWI is a unique organisation comprising a major R&D establishment, professional engineering institute and an organisation committed to the transfer of information to industry.
