Call for Speakers - Aberdeen conference "Subsurface IT and competitive advantage".

The Aberdeen branch of the British Computer Society is running a forum on 4th May jointly with the Digital Energy Journal, looking at how IT can support subsurface disciplines achieve competitive advantage.

"Competitive advantage" for subsurface means finding new reservoirs and reducing the uncertainty in our understanding of them, so they can be drilled with high predictability. What kind of IT would best help subsurface professionals to achieve this?

In the IT world, some people (including Gartner) say there should be two types of IT, one focused on stability and the other on agility. They call this approach 'Bimodal IT' and say it makes sense to look at them separately.

With 'stability' IT, the emphasis is on high reliability and low cost. With 'agility' IT, the emphasis is on helping the company achieve competitive advantage. What does 'agility IT' look like for the subsurface?
